Norman Hebert

Assistant Coach

Boys Varsity Baseball

Coach Hebert was born and raised in Corona, California. Coach is the youngest of two children born to Norm and Sylvia. He has an older sister Jessica, who is an educator for special needs children in the Corona/Norco Unified School District. Growing up in a self proclaimed baseball household rooting for the Dodgers, he learned discipline and work ethic from his hard working parents who ran a family business out of their house while his father was also a firefighter for The San Bernardino County Fire Department and later retired as a Captain after 30 years of service. That environment allowed him to find his passion for baseball and hard work which culminated in becoming a 3 year letter winner at Corona High School as a MIF/RHP. After Graduating in 2005 he accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Cal State University of Monterey Bay.

Coach Hebert was named a captain of the pitching staff at Monterey Bay. He led the team in appearances as a Freshman as well as completing the first save in school history. With over 200 innings pitched after his 4 year playing career at CSUMB, he held multiple school records as well as an NCAA all time-record which still stands. Coach then became a part of the coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the 2009-2010 season; while continuing to attend the University’s business school.

In the spring of 2010, Coach Hebert accepted a contract to become a player/manager of a professional ball club in Germany. Coach Hebert, went on to manage 4 teams for the Erbach Grasshoppers in Hessen, Germany. Coach managed and played short-stop as well as was the team’s closer for the top-tier team which finished in 2nd place in the German Bundesliga. He also managed the minor league/farm team, a youth team, and the women’s softball team.

After returning to the states in 2011 he began his coaching journey of youth baseball players. Over the next 10 years he would become the Director of Player Development for multiple college baseball development programs. His duties included on field teaching and development as well as assisting in placing hundreds of these athletes he coached to colleges around the country.

In the fall of 2021, Coach Hebert accepted a position as Assistant Baseball Coach / Recruiting Coordinator at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. Coach was integral in turning around a struggling program that won 3 games the year prior. In the one year at LSU, the team was able to set every major school record and finish the highest in the standings in the 15 year baseball program’s history. He was also proud to have brought on the largest recruiting class in program history bringing in 35 incoming freshmen and JC transfers for the 2022/2023 season.

Currently, Coach is in his 4th year assisting Regional Director Andy Rojo with USA Baseball’s National Team Identification Series. Coach Hebert assists in the identification, evaluation, and the coaching of the athletes that come through USA Baseball’s NTIS program.

Coach Hebert is single and lives in Corona, California. He is excited to bring his knowledge and work ethic to the student athletes at St. John Bosco. He believes he will assist in creating a positive and winning atmosphere to the baseball program.
